United Takes the Lead as Industry Changes After STB Decision

In its recent decision, the Surface Transportation Board withdrew approval of ratemaking bureaus to collectively set transportation rates, including the bureau that sets rates for the moving and storage industry. As a result of this decision, starting Jan. 1, 2008, United Van Lines is now free to set transportation rates and publish their own tariffs. As we have in the past, United looks upon change as an opportunity to reaffirm our industry leadership position. We believe that the recent STB decision is a positive step that will allow our customers to enjoy the benefits of the innovation and originality that United is well positioned to offer.
