Gene Elkins Named Vice President of
Operations Support for UniGroup, Inc. |

ST. LOUIS - Gene Elkins has been named Vice President of Operations Support for UniGroup, Inc., the parent company of United Van Lines, Mayflower Transit, and other transportation-related companies. The announcement was made by Richard H. McClure, president and chief operating officer of UniGroup.
In his new capacity, Elkins will oversee the company's car carrier area, fleet technology and other operations technology initiatives. Elkins has more than 28 years of moving and storage industry experience, including numerous leadership positions. Prior to this appointment, Elkins served in the business development area of UniGroup.
Before joining UniGroup in 2003, Elkins served as the Vice President and General Manager of Daryl Flood, Inc., Chicago, Ill. Prior to that, he was the Executive Vice President of Moving Services in North America for SIRVA.
Elkins has served on the Board of Directors at the American Moving and Storage Association and on the Household Goods Carriers Bureau Rates and Tariffs committee.
UniGroup, Inc. is one of the nation's largest privately owned transportation companies. Its world headquarters offices are located in Fenton, Mo.
