UNITED VAN LINES TRANSPORTS 15,000 POUNDS OF INSTRUMENTS
AND UNIFORMS TO TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 5, 2005 - United Van Lines, the nation's largest household goods transportation company, transported 15,000 pounds of instruments and uniforms for 164 St. Louis students who participated in the time-honored tradition of the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 1.

Before University of Michigan and University of Texas took the field at the famed Rose Bowl, the Lindbergh High School Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band and United's van traveled more than 1,800 miles to participate in the 116th annual Tournament of Roses Parade.

To help with the complex logistics, United Van Lines donated its moving expertise and helped to turn dreams into reality for the band members. A-Mrazek Moving Systems, an agent for United, provided a truck and driver to expertly handle the band's big move out to California. The driver, Mark Schmit, spent 13 days on the road as part of the band family and helped to make possible what may be the highlight of many of the band members' musical careers.

United Van Lines transports electronic equipment, trade show exhibits and displays, works of art, and specialized freight, in addition to household goods. United, with headquarters located in suburban St. Louis, maintains a network of 1,000 affiliated agencies in 135 countries around the world. More information about United and its services can be obtained through the company's Web site at www.unitedvanlines.com.
