CINCINNATI, Ohio – Planes Companies, a United Van Lines agent located in West Chester, Ohio, aided FOX19, Q102, and the Yellow Ribbon Support Center in the collection of snacks, personal hygiene items, games, and other treats for military personnel overseas. The event took place on May 1 through 3 at the Yellow Ribbon Support Center in Eastgate and May 8 through 10 at Rookwood Commons in Norwood.
FOX19 Chief Meteorologist Paul Horton and Q102’s Fritsch and Grover Collins broadcasted live as the donations came in from all over the tri-state. Staff members from the Yellow Ribbon Support Center used Planes tractor-trailers as collection centers at each location and to separate and wrap the goods into care packages. Staffers also collected $7,800 in cash donations for postage.
