United Van Lines Receives Intel's Preferred Quality Supplier Award

United Van Lines was named a recipient of Intel Corporation’s Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for outstanding performance in providing products and services deemed essential to Intel’s success. The company was recognized for its efforts supplying Intel with transportation services for relocation, capital equipment and tradeshows. United Van Lines and 43 additional PQS award winners will be honored at a celebration in Burlingame, Calif., on March 27.

“United Van Lines is greatly honored to again receive the prominent PQS award, just as we appreciate the continued opportunity to work with the Intel Corporation,” said Gerry Stadler, chairman of the board for UniGroup, the parent company of United Van Lines. “Our two industry-leading companies share an outstanding global relationship, which reflects Intel’s well-known adherence to exacting service expectations and our capability to meet those standards, not only for Intel, but all of our customers.”

“United Van Lines has a long and successful history with Intel and we are proud to award them with Intel’s Preferred Quality Supplier for their performance in 2006,” said Jon Olson, manager, Global Transportation and Logistics Outsourcing, Intel Corporation. “United Van Lines is dedicated to continuous improvement and has demonstrated outstanding quality and results that have led to this accomplishment.”

The PQS award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Improvement (SCQI) process that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement.

To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Suppliers must also manage and deliver on a challenging improvement plan and a quality systems assessment. Additional information about the SCQI program is available at http://supplier.intel.com/quality/. Intel will also recognize PQS award winners on March 27, 2007, with an advertisement in the U.S., Europe, and Asian editions of The Wall Street Journal.
