LARRY STANLEY RECEIVES
UNITED VAN LINES “GENE ANDERSON/UNITED EXCELLENCE AWARD”

| Larry Stanley, president of Merit Moving Systems, Los Angeles, Calif., has received the United Van Lines “Gene Anderson/United Excellence award,” which recognizes an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the United system. The award is named in honor of the late Gene Anderson of Lubbock, Texas, a long-time United Van Lines board member and the corporation’s treasurer at the time of his death in 1985. |

| Stanley’s selection was announced by Richard H. McClure, president of United Van Lines, at the van line’s recent convention held in Desert Springs, Calif. In revealing the winner of this prestigious honor, McClure referred to the Stanley as “someone who has the traits of a leader.” |

| McClure also stated, “Soon Larry’s reputation as a sound leader elevated him among his peers as a natural to serve on the UniGroup Board of Directors. He was elected to the Board in 2001 and during his tenure has participated in significant board actions including UniGroup’s transition into adjacent markets. He currently serves as the Chair of the Operations Committee that has been active in working through our strategies to successfully improve service.” |
