HOWARD LEVINE HONORED FOR WORK WITH MARYLAND MOVERS
|
LINTHICUM, Md. – The MMTA Maryland Movers Conference honored Howard Levine, owner of Ramar Moving Systems, an agent for United Van Lines, for his efforts as the organization’s chairman over the past two years. The Maryland Movers Conference is a specialized segment of Maryland Motor Truck Association that is comprised of more than 60 professional companies that move household or office goods within Maryland and across the country.
|
| |
| When he assumed the chairmanship in 2006, Levine was determined to make a difference during his two-year term for the betterment of the moving industry. Without a doubt, he succeeded. Under his leadership the Conference: |
| |
- Partnered with the Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation to provide greater information on moving to consumers;
- Appeared on various TV, radio and other media outlets to promote the legitimate moving industry;
- Worked extensively with consumer affairs groups and the Better Business Bureau. The Conference is now a BBB accredited organization;
- Strengthened the Conference’s Registered Mover Program requirements;
- Met with Congressional representatives on Capitol Hill to discuss key moving and transportation industry issues; and
- Developed a new DVD designed to educate consumers on how to avoid scams and choose a reputable mover that they can trust.
|
| |
Levine was also recognized by outgoing Maryland Motor Truck Association Chairman Mel Fair, when he received MMTA’s Chairman’s Award. This prestigious award is given annually by the outgoing chairman of Maryland Motor Truck Association to an individual for his or her outstanding service on behalf of Maryland’s trucking industry.
