WILLIAM B. MEYER, INC. SPONSORS
CONNECTICUT CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER’S CYCLE OF LIFE

STRATFORD, Conn. - William B. Meyer, Inc., an agent for United Van Lines, was a sponsor for Connecticut Children's Medical Center's Cancer Survivors Day event held on Sunday, June 7, at St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford, Conn. Several hundred children who have beaten cancer or are currently in treatment with Connecticut Children's Department of Hematology and Oncology and their families attended this special day. It was a day of fun and food and a celebration of the REACH for the Stars Survivorship Clinic. The carnival atmosphere for current and past patients included games, food, a tricycle "skills challenge," activities and health information for kids of all ages.

William B. Meyer, Inc. continued its ongoing support of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, not only financially, but with a host of volunteers. Dozens of members of the William B. Meyer, Inc. team and their families and friends spent this fabulous and meaningful day organizing games, supervising activities, serving food and even being dunked in the dunk tank to the delight of these remarkable children and their families.

“This is a day we look forward to from one year to the next. All of us at William B. Meyer, Inc. would like to thank Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for inviting us to participate. Watching and interacting with children who have survived cancer and some who are currently undergoing treatment and their families spending a day of total celebration is heartwarming. We are honored to be part of this event and look forward to continuing our support for many years to come,” said Tom Gillon, president of William B. Meyer, Inc.

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is home to the most comprehensive pediatric oncology program in Connecticut and Western New England -- providing state-of-the-art, comprehensive and compassionate care for children and adolescents with cancer. With advances in care over the last 30 years, more than 80 percent of the kids treated for cancer are survivors. The Reach for the Stars Survivorship Clinic supports the long-term physical and emotional health needs of these remarkable young people.
