SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Juleen Delaney, vice president of Delaney Moving & Storage, a United Van Lines agent, was nominated by the Salvation Army chapter of Syracuse to attend the Board Leadership Seminar. The seminar, sponsored by the Partnership for Nonprofit Enterprise Excellence (E²), is a nine-month program geared toward board chairs and board chair-elects.
"It was a great privilege to be nominated for this seminar," said Delaney. "It was a wonderful opportunity that will allow me to better serve the organizations that I am a part of.”
Only 12 individuals are chosen annually to partake in the program, and they must be nominated by an executive chair of the organization they serve. Participants are exposed to a curriculum that includes topics such as board recruitment, mentoring, fundraising and community outreach in an effort to enhance their success as board leaders.
Delaney currently serves as the vice chair of Program Development and Services on the advisory board for the Salvation Army chapter in Syracuse, one of the oldest Salvation Army chapters in the nation.
