MIKE DIRAIMONDO NAMED CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OF UNIGROUP


Mike DiRaimondo, President of Trans Advantage, UniGroup’s equipment leasing and equipment financing unit, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of UniGroup, Inc. UniGroup President Richard McClure made the announcement Friday. DiRaimondo’s appointment is effective July 5. Trans Advantage will continue to report to DiRaimondo.

McClure said “I am pleased Mike will be moving into the CFO role. He brings 30 plus years of financial management experience from diverse organizations, including 11 years experience at UniGroup. Mike is well known and respected throughout the organization. It is a testament to the depth of management we have at UniGroup that we can fill such an important role with an internal candidate as talented as Mike.”

DiRaimondo, a certified public accountant, began his career in 1979 at Ernst and Young, a leading public accounting firm. He joined INTRAV Inc., a luxury tour operator in 1985 where he served as Senior Vice President and CFO. At INTRAV he managed all aspects of financial management, including accounting, audit, tax and treasury as well as maintaining banking relationships. DiRaimondo joined the corporate finance team at UniGroup in 1999 as Director, Treasury, Audit and Tax Services. DiRaimondo was promoted to Vice President of Operations of Trans Advantage in 2002 and to President in 2008. DiRaimondo earned a B.S. in Accounting from Quincy University. He received his Certified Public Accountant license in 1982.

Jim Powers, UniGroup’s current Senior Vice President and CFO, has accepted a position as Chief Financial Officer of Major Brands Holdings, a distributor of wine and spirits based in St. Louis.

“We wish Jim the very best in his future endeavors. In his nine years with UniGroup he has made many significant contributions and has been a major contributor not only to the financial management of the company, but to its overall strategic direction. I have valued Jim as a business partner and as a friend,” McClure said.
