Celebrate Van Operator Appreciation Week 2022

Our van operators are out on the road every day delivering the goods along with a friendly smile to United customers across the nation. Throughout the week of September 13, we’ll be recognizing their hard work, resilience and passion with a series of celebrations and events that show how much we value them every week – and day – of the year.  

As part of the celebration, each driver will be getting a call from a member of the home office team with a special message thanking them for their service. If they can visit our home office, they’ll receive swag bags and other giveaways and also have a chance to meet the team supporting them behind the scenes.  

2022 Van Operator of the Year Awards 

Heather and Daren Davenport  

This husband/wife team from Jacksonville, Florida was awarded the United Van Lines Household Goods Van Operator of the Year Award for the west region. Daren started out in the moving industry more than 20 years ago and Heather began co-riding with him about three years ago.

Shayne Poehnelt  

From Madison, Wisconsin, Shayne came up in the industry riding along in the cab with his mom and dad. He strongly believes he didn’t choose this career; it chose him. To Shayne, a job well done can only be achieved through teamwork. As he so eloquently states, “Packed with pride, it’s all inside.”
