James Songcuan of Vincent Fister, Inc. named United Van Lines Van Operator of the Year

LEXINGTON (March 19, 2026) — James Songcuan from Vincent Fister, Inc. out of Lexington, Kentucky, was named this year’s United Van Lines Van Operator of the Year in the Logistics category. The award honors Songcuan’s exceptional performance in customer service and safety. He was recognized at the Company’s recent award ceremony in St. Louis. 

From a young age, Songcuan learned the value of hard work and dedication by observing his father, a Vietnam War veteran whose strong work ethic left a lasting impression. He has carried those lessons with him throughout his 30-year career in the trucking industry. Reflecting on what makes a successful day, Songcuan said, “Being productive, feeling proud of the work I’ve done and most importantly making the customer happy — that’s a successful day for me. If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

There are more than 3,900 driving professionals in the United Van Lines network, and Songcuan was one of the three winners this year. The Van Operator of the Year began in the late 1970s to recognize the men and women who sacrifice so much for a life on the road and who help other families through one of the most stressful times in their lives.
