John Mistretta of Armstrong Relocation Wins United Van Lines Operator of the Year
ST. LOUIS – (March 25, 2022) – John Mistretta, of Armstrong Relocation out of New Castle, Delaware, was awarded United Van Lines’ Van Operator of the Year Award for logistics. The award recognizes Mistretta’s outstanding performance in the areas of customer service and safety. United Van Lines President and CEO Jason Mills along with Chairman of the Board of Directors Charles W. McDaniel presented the award at the Company’s recent Learning Conference held in St. Louis.
In his nearly 45 years in the industry, Mistretta has driven more than 4 million miles. John believes his background in hauling household goods helped position him for success — especially when it comes to safely and efficiently loading up the truck. He believes his confidence in himself and the ability to do his job coupled with the presentation and organization of his truck contributes to his success.
“I am very particular about how my truck looks,” Mistretta said. “When I show up at a customer’s place or back into a loading dock and all the pads are folded neatly, trailer is swept out and equipment is secured, it puts the customer at ease. They know they can trust you with their million dollars of equipment.”

There are more than 3,500 drivers in the United Van Lines system, and Mistretta was one of three winners this year.
