Mike Marchese Receives Gene Anderson/United Excellence Award
Nov 24, 2013 – Michael Marchese, owner of Blackhawk Moving & Storage, Inc., Sycamore, Ill., received the Gene Anderson/United Excellence award, which recognizes an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the United Van Lines system. The award is named in honor of the late Gene Anderson of Lubbock, Texas, a long-time United Van Lines Board member and the corporation’s treasurer at the time of his death in 1985. It is given each year to the individual who demonstrates the same strength of character and commitment to quality as Anderson.
Marchese’s selection was announced by United Van Lines CEO Rich McClure at the van line’s recent convention held in Boca Raton, Fla. In revealing the winner of this prestigious honor, McClure said, “Mike leads by example. He sets high expectations of himself and his team, always encouraging them to tune sales skills or learn the latest industry technology. He is an inspiration to his team and fellow agents in the United Van Lines system.”
