Robert Bryant of Safeway Logistics Named Van Operator of the Year
INDIANAPOLIS – (March 11, 2024) – Robert Bryant of Safeway Logistics out of Indianapolis was awarded this year’s United Van Lines Van Operator of the Year for the Logistics category. The award recognizes Bryant’s excellent performance in the areas of customer service and safety. The Company honored Bryant at their recent award ceremony.
Bryant’s career began in the military, where he worked as a mechanic specializing in planes and trucks. His skills and craft later led him to the trucking industry. However, the luxury of being his own boss and traveling the world is what keeps him in the industry. After years of delivering special commodities, he later joined Safeway Logistics in his hometown of Indianapolis to be closer to his family.
When asked what receiving this award meant to him, Bryant said, “I do what I do every day as a job, but it’s nice to know someone took notice and appreciates what I do.”

During his time off the road, Bryant enjoys cooking his infamous brisket for his family.
There are more than 3,900 driving professionals in the United Van Lines network, and Bryant was one of the three winners this year. The Van Operator of the Year began in the late 1970s to recognize the men and women who sacrifice so much for a life on the road and who help other families through one of the most stressful times in their lives.
